After the popular goldfish, tropical freshwater fish are the next most popular with fish tanks being installed not only in the home but also in offices, hospitals, reception areas, doctors surgeries, dentists, etc etc
Our tropical section has rapidly expanded (November 2009) with the addition of a new room which contains some rarer species, together with smaller fish which are suitable for the Nano aquarium. November 2009 also saw the addition of a Malawi cichlid section.
Just as humans require a varied diet, the same is required for fish. In addition to flake and/or pellet food we stock a variety of frozen foods. We also recommend feeding live food at least once a week such as bloodworm and/or daphnia - fresh supplies are delivered on a weekly basis.
For those hobbyists who prefer live plants we have a regular delivery each week. However, we would also remind customers that these plants are living and, as such, require food – just as both fish and their owners do! There are several reputable plant foods on the market - however, we recommend and stock Tetra's Plantamin or Crypto.
We also have a good selection of artificial plants which, these days, once submerged in the tank look extremely realistic – these, of course, do not require feeding! |
